Net or cloth like Slide Chute are flexible Toboggan using a 45 degrees slop, to help to slow down the chute.

This sort of Slide chutes were tested by the French firefighters 170 years ago, as shows the illustration of the Nouveau Journal des Sapeurs Pompiers  in the year 1838.

The Japanese used this sort of chute during WWII  

It is not serious to claim the possibility to evacuate high-rise buildings  with remade of obsolete techniques.
 
We all shall agree, that even a rope made of bed clothes is better than nothing to escape in case of emergency.
So why not to patent bed sheet to evacuate skyscrapers.
