People that were trapped above the floor levels impacted could have
been evacuated by only one set of four or five units of ZEC-EM, remaining
operative over 25, in few minutes.
The Zephinie Escape Chute (ZEC)
can operate over 100 floors.
Can evacuate up 1000 persons per minute, including handicapped ,
injured persons with the same average escape speed.
Ignorance or bad will
can't invalidate demonstrable
facts.

Summary of Vertical Evacuation
products
applications, designed, developed and eventually patented by G. Zephinie since
1968
|
The ZEC Multi-Entry (ZEC-ME):
Prior to 1974, the inefficiency of stairways led to the concept of
the " NON EVACUATION OPTION".
Since then, the ZEC has proven definitively that high-rise buildings over
20 stories can be evacuated efficiently. Unfortunately, many Governmental
agencies keep a dubious hypocritical position, regarding the basic Human
rights of evacuation in case of emergency, or surprisingly, just ignore
this fact!
|
|
The ZEC Single Entry:
The ZEC Single Entry has many applications, except for the high rise
building evacuation. Its operation must be limited to 100Ft, because of
wind effects.
The ZEC-SE is particularly suited to the safety needs of Industry, Single
Family Dwelling, Mobile Rescue and Unique special applications.
Note:
The spectacular aspect of the ZEC-Single Entry has blinded and confused
many safety experts, regarding high-rise building evacuation, to the
disadvantage of Zephinie's Multiple Entry Design, primordial Technique of
unlimited mass evacuation.
|
|
The ZEC-Mobil:
The ZEC improves from 10 to 100 times the evacuation capacity of any Arial
Ladder or Platform.
The ZEC is able to evacuate over 100 people in 10 minutes, including the
handicapped. This is an unquestionable fact. Hundreds of ZEC-Mobil have
been in operation for years.
|
|
ZEC-ME for Hospitals:
The Zephinie hospital evacuation method is the first to have made possible
hospital emergency evacuation with a minimum of auxiliary personnel.
The ZEC-ME application is particular to the dramatic problem of the mass
evacuation of handicapped patients. In high-risk seismic zones, the post
quake evacuation of emergency hospitals is a priority, as in the Santa
Monica Clinic's four story building case: the evacuation took over four
hours and several Fire Department's manpower resources.
No matter how many staircases are available in a hospital, the evacuation
of patients relies on auxiliary personnel. The ZEC increases auxiliary
personnel efficiency tenfold.

|
Anti-Terrorism
Escape Route:
Hidden and specially
designed installations of the ZEC have been set-up in Embassies,
Government offices and Banks, to provide escape routes in case of
terrorist commando attack.
|
|
High-Risks Industries:
The ZEC coupled with the "Wet Curtain" protection can
eventually withstand a four hour direct flame contact.
|
|
All applications of the ZEC aim at
the handicapped Persons Evacuation:
The General population has approximately 30% of it's citizens with
disadvantages regarding the use of stairways in cases of emergency.
The ZEC allows an equal evacuation performance for all the population,
including blind persons. This fact has been demonstrated under the control
of the French Government.
The Equal Access right should be extended to an equal Right of Egress in
case of emergency.
