People that were trapped above the floor levels impacted could have
been evacuated by only one set of four or five units of ZEC-EM, remaining
operative over 25, in few minutes.
The Zephinie Escape Chute (ZEC)
can operate over 100 floors.
Can evacuate up 1000 persons per minute, including handicapped ,
injured persons with the same average escape speed.
Ignorance or bad will
can't invalidate demonstrable
facts.

The Zephinie
Escape Chute
Pioneer of high rise vertical mass evacuation technology.
Hospitals
The ZEC is the
first system ever to have made possible the
efficient and rapid evacuation of Hospitals.
No matter
how many staircases are available in a hospital, patient's evacuation
relies on auxiliary personnel.
The ZEC improves tenfold the efficiency of personnel.
|
|
We
have set up a unique methodology to make possible the use of the ZEC for
this purpose:
The Patients are continuously "handled" by the auxiliary
personnel from the exterior of the ZEC with a minimum of physical effort.
This
ZEC-MEH application is particular to the dramatic problem of the mass
evacuation of handicapped patients.
In high-risk seismic zones, the post quake evacuation of emergency
hospitals is a priority, as in the Santa Monica Clinic's four story
building case:
The evacuation took over four hours and the resources of several Fire
Departments.
Hundreds
of European health facilities have installed the ZEC since 1976.
National Social Security Hospitals.
Military Hospitals.
Geriatric Hospitals.
Nursing Homes.
Unions Medical Centers.
Obstetric Hospitals.
Psychiatric Hospitals. Private Clinics, etc.

The Clinic
Hospital of Seville, Spain, has 6
installations of ZEC-ME-H and 8 Installations of ZEC-SE, in
service for over 20 years.
